15:0339076I`ve been parking down Debrad`s the past few month`s on my way home from work, and at £1.10 for 3 hours, I was quite happy with. However, Wednesday this week, I had £1.10 in my hand, and it had gone up to £1.20. Today, I had £1.20 in my hand, and overnight, it`s gone up to £1.60! Is this justified, or is it part of the rundown of the port prior to a sell off? I believe someone on here said DHB own this car park? Will it be £2 next week? Who decides to wack it up like that? Also, it was half empty at lunchtime today compared to Wednesday, when it was near full.

15:0739077I'd be quite interested to hear some kind of justification for this kind of unprecedented hike in prices, too, Colin. However, I shall not be holding my breath - DHB are a law unto themselves and noone at DDC is interested in upsetting any applecarts with regard to the Harbour Board, who seem to be allowed to do as they please without anyone in authority saying 'boo'.

18:1839085£1.60 for 3 hours is a bargain in comparison with a lot of places and seems about the same as the DDC parking.
Can't remember the last time I paid to park in Dover, must be a few years ago, and I am there a lot and for hours at a time

Been nice knowing you :)

18:3939092Agreed Paul, but that is a big, and sudden rise. I never miss the odd pound and a 10 or 20 pence piece, but I`m less likely to stay down there now for so long.

19:0739098maybe they are trying stop non customers parking, as people who buy something over a fiver(i think) get their parking fee back.

20:1239167I must agree with you there Howard. The Brad Warf lot have to pay the rent and up keep of the car park, and it's still cheaper than parking in Stembrook which is £1.90 for two hour's.

22:3039180Agreed it`s been cheaper at DeBrad, but why the sudden rise which is what this post is asking? Have they been conducting an experiment to see if they fill the car park being cheaper, or have they made a balls up by not charging enough?
