    the major parties look more and more out of touch with the people as years go by and rely on votes from people that have voted red or blue all of their life.

    i don't see any great change coming soon irrespective of the result of this by-election, ukip have thrown everything into this one and have had supporters from all over the country down their canvassing, stuffing envelopes etc. will be vastly different at general election time with 600 odd constituencies to be worked. the other big problem ukip have is one of being seen as a one man party by many, everyone knows who nigel farage is but not the others who would form his front bench.
