  I read an article a few years back that was translated from the French and it made clear that people living in Paris and other big cities referred sneeringly to the Nord Pas de Calais as English.
  
  I get the distinct impression that most of our politicians irrespective of party allegiance dismiss Dover and its problems despite the best efforts of Charlie to highlight things.
