    The fencing which is almost complete has deterred the illegals entering the port of Calais,hence the greater number trying the tunnel.Opening and closing the gate to the port would not be too much of a problem if done manually.
    Every vehicle using Dunkirk is physically checked twice both inside and out which does cause delays but does deter illegals from using the port, I have yet to see an illegal there.
    As I have said many times on this forum, if every truck company secured its vehicles as does the one I work for then you would not get any illegals coming through Dover except the ones known to the driver.
    As I have also said Charlie was very keen prior to the election to take an interest, but now does not acknowledge my e-mails or phone messages.
