I visit Scotland regularly and haven't noticed any great call on the streets for independence. I had a feeling the pro SNP vote was a disaffected Labour vote from those who wouldn't vote for either of the other two major parties rather than a genuine desire for independence.
I was going to look for election statistics to see if they gave any backing to this view but hit a bottle of cider at lunchtime and gave up looking. Just been reading this though and the third comment down (from a Peter Thompson) is interesting reading in this respect.
