  I thought the nuclear subs were orginally sited there when they were
  
  1) new technology and people were scared of them spontaneously combusting
  2) a target for the ruskies
  
  I wonder where we'd put them using the same criteria today? Got to be on the west coast so they can reach deep water quick so Liverpool's in (and it's got a cruise terminal with spare capacity), Lowestoft's out
