I appreciate that DHB might not want to spend money on them right now, but if they aren't going to, they should be put up for sale.
It's, as with everything, a matter of priorities and as they are paying rates on properties that are quickly becoming a burden, surely it's better to spend a couple of their many millions on them and then rent them out or sell them and realise much more than they'll cost to refurbish ?

We have enough buildings in the Town centre that are neglected and in urgent need of refurbishment, we certainly don't want them staying as they are or getting worse, which they will if nothing is done.

Those buildings are an asset to DHB and the Town, why allow them to turn into a liability - and an unsightly one at that ?

Leaf Hotels can't be too happy with DHB over it.

    Roger
