  The problem will not go away until our government makes it abundantly clear that no benefits would be paid until someone had worked and paid taxes for 5 years. The French are getting the blame for a problem not of their making and life is becoming intolerable in and around Calais.
  
  The storming of the ferry despite there being police armed with sub machine guns suggests these are hardened criminals, therefore I believe that nothing less than troops stationed at the port will suffice.
