This is mainly France's problem not ours so it is up to them to sort it, these people only become our problem when they manage to reach our shores. France should be lobbying the EU about finding a way to stop these people from reaching France in the first place.
If they do go ahead and blockade the port it will cause as much disruption to the French as it will to the UK.

If they are not legally in her Country then she should deal with them as illegal immigrants, if they are legally in her Country then likewise she should ensure they are fully aware that they cannot travel to the UK, indeed if they could they would be able to buy buy a ticket!. They are not our problem until they are on our soil.

I recently heard an amusing story about a group of illegals who boarded a British truck outside Calais. When they climbed out the following day they were in Salzburg, Austria.

The situation completely out of hand now, terrifying for crew and passengers.

Charlie Elphicke says this is a problem for the French, quite clearly it isn't, its become our problem and our govt is sitting on its hands.

The problem will not go away until our government makes it abundantly clear that no benefits would be paid until someone had worked and paid taxes for 5 years. The French are getting the blame for a problem not of their making and life is becoming intolerable in and around Calais.
The storming of the ferry despite there being police armed with sub machine guns suggests these are hardened criminals, therefore I believe that nothing less than troops stationed at the port will suffice.

Definitely a French problem as it is on French soil and they have allowed the numbers to escalate uncontrolled around Calais, it certainly is not our fault.
The storming of the port was very convenient publicity for the Calais Mayor, why did the sub machine guns not get fired even if it was into the air so this whole event rather suspect to me.
