He mounts a bold attack on right wing tories saying they are ridiculous, bizarre, backward looking and totally out of
touch with the real demands of business.`I am going to confront their oldfashion negative thinking that to generate
growth is to cut worker and environmental protections and to cut taxes on the rich and stroke `fat cats` until they purr
with pleasure.
Among other measures he wants to simplify Britains byzantine tax system and to cut out the tory ideology of hire and
fire culture made by the right wing tories such as Liam Fox..............conference talk .........

sounds like he his trying to drive a wedge between dave and his right wing backbenchers.
there is a lot of grumbling in the ranks over the power and influence that the yellows hold in relation to their share of the vote.

Good god... Cable really is a fool and way out of his depth as a Minister. This academic economist really has no idea. They should put him out to grass the sooner the better, this man who has never been a success running a business of his own is trying to tell people who have done so, and those who do so, that they are out of touch with business needs. What a moron.

well well, cleggy was able to silence his critics at the recent lib dem conference, but for how long.
apart from cable, others such as highly respected lib dem simon hughes are biting in the background as well as a vast amount of nervous lib dem MP's knowing there time is up.
then of course theres the lib dem members themselves.
all looks like the lib dems becoming very 3rd rate, and after being destroyed at the next election, will take years to re build.

i think their party activists prefer to be in the background making noises about the wicked blues.
being in government and having to make decisions is not for them.

LOL Howard, indeed. They have always been the protest party and actually having to take some responsibility does not sit well with them. But, if they did not accept a share of power when available to them after all their electioneering about coalition power sharing and how wonderful a hung parliament would be, they would have been seen as totally pointless. They were in a lose, lose situation, a trap of their own making.
