i find they do not sit anywhere long enough to be counted.
had a beautiful one in my garden the other day, followed it from flower to flower, couldn't get a pic of it though.

Excellent. We have had quite a few butterflies in the garden this week, now the lavender etc is out. I'll get counting!

Plenty of bees around but very few butterflies, not even on the buddleia which is known for attracting the butterflies.
