Butterflies

  I keep reading that their numbers are down dramatically and earlier in the summer I saw very few but in the last couple of weeks they have had a renaissance in my garden, I don't know whether other posters have noticed the same.

  Definitely Howard, cleared the cabbages of egg clusters for the first time about 2 weeks ago, on Wednesday did the same and the amount of egg clusters was at least equal to the previous 6 weeks. Only representive of large and small cabbage whites though.

  Yes I have also seen several varieties recently including a small blue one by the River Dour, dragonflies or damselflies are also about.

  Yes I've noticed quite a few recently along the seafront. The wild plants next to the beach were very busy with butterflies when I took these few pictures about 2 weeks ago. To be honest I'm not sure if its a butterfly or some kind of moth in the pictures but it flew right in next to me making it easy to photograph...even without the right close up equipment. In true dear stalker style I moved in right up close to the airborne winged creature who didn't bat a proverbial eyelid...that's if indeed he has an eyelid.
