  Dose any one know of any Business grants that are avalible at the moment? I would like to expand my business but as you know the banks are well the banks and I have tried Business Link etc in the past but with no joy.

  You might also want to speak to a corporate broker - let me know if you want some details of one by email.
  
  You need to make sure that you have a robust business plan.

  John try Expansion East Kent.
  
  It is Regional Growth Fund finance being administered by KCC.
  
  Interest free loan if matched by supporting finance. Up to £2.5m limit.
  
  It is really for firms ready to grow with a guarantee of new jobs.
  
  The programme runs for 3 years & has a fund of £35m to give out.
  
  Sound business case needed.
  
  Application forms are online , although can be cumbersome.
  
  Expected decision turnaround for decision is 40 days once all paperwork has been completed & evidence of matching financial support is provided.
  
  There is a direct website or via KCC website.

  Good luck John. Loans or equity capital for small businesses are like rocking-horse dung right now unless you mortgage everything you own AND have a robust business plan.

  Money is always on offer to those who don't need it. That's one of banking's oldest truisms. But there are good reasons for using a loan broker:
  
  1. They know who has an appetite for your particular type of risk so can go straight to the right source.
  
  2. They know what each lender wants to see in your business plan so can help you write it for the best chance of success.
  
  3. They can put your proposal up to a number of lenders on a 'no-names' basis so your credit is not being checked many times over. Nothing short of a default lowers your credit score faster than a quick succession of checks on your record. Once you have an 'in principle' approval your credit can be checked-once only.
