Four fifths of the population (the large majority) are under sixty five and I bet many of those well over sixty five have their own cars, so that is not a good enough reason to have a special service. No company can run efficiently for a minority whatever form of business they are in.
Just be grateful you are still fit enough to use public transport, however awkward the trip might be, many are not that lucky, sorry but keeping on whinging about it will not change things.
