Good news indeed. Was back in Deal 3(?) weeks ago. Took fast bus via Whitfield to Canterbury.
No timetable displayed in South Street Deal.
Normally bus full of ancients with free bus pass. Three passengers in total and I had upper deck to myself.
Surely they can't have all died of CoronaVirus?
Canterbury dead. Midweek and very few shoppers + Debenhams now closed. Cafe Rouge closed. M&S now operating on all three floors but more staff than customers.
Not looking good.
To add insult to injury Cathedral offering 'Evensong' without 'song' (no quire etc).

We were in Bath this week and the city was buzzing, even on Monday. Lots of tourists doing ‘staycations’ but very few foreigners among them. Pubs and restaurants rammed at lunchtime thanks to Rishi. The usual mass of ‘homeless’ beggars who seem to favour our more affluent cities. Crap beer at London prices though. I wonder what Canterbury is doing wrong? Must be the parking charges.
