Details are now on the Stagecoach website of several changes come January 4th. The most significant is the reduction of the 61 from every 15 to every 20 minutes. There are also morning peak changes to 60 and 62 plus assorted changes to odd journeys on other routes. I gather that these changes will save 2 buses.

Will take a look, Brian won't be very happy with the cut to the 61 route.

Looked through and most of the changes are very minor and seem too involve school services. My guess is that the previous timetables were mostly unachievable so a few tweaks were made to make things work.

the route 61 sevice is a bit of hit and miss, the 4 busses between 0750 and 0830 are packed with school kids, the busses between 0830 and 0930 from pencester road are either late or rerouted..the busses between 1445 and 1600 are packed with school kids.so double deckers would come in usefull..so a reduction would make it worse instead of better.

Any changes to the 88 and 89 routes?

Very little.
Routes 87/88/88A - The 15:50 journey from Dover will start at 15:30 on Saturdays and during school holidays. The 06:56 journey from Dover will start 5 minutes earlier. The 15:01 schooldays journey from Barton Road will start at 14:57 and run via Pencester Road before departing Christ Church Academy at 15:18. This journey will run via Sandwich Technology School at 16:05 and continue to Ramsgate.

I did wonder whether they will get larger buses for 61 - we shall have to wait and see! Buses running late will be due to traffic, particularly along Barton Road in the morning peak. Then, of course, the first buses after 9.30 get rather busy for some strange reason

It always amuses me that so many seem to feel that they really must get the first bus after 9.30 - the result being that they then tend to run late on that and the next journey.

Busy people and no reason to stay in bed?!
I wonder how many buses would be taken off the road and how many jobs would be lost if there wasn't the support from those oft maligned bus pass users?

Quite a lot Bob not only drivers but cleaners, mechanics and admin staff. The Taxpayers allowance demanded that they should be axed along with the heating allowance and TV licence for the over 75s stating that many will be dead by the time of the next election and many others will have forgotten all about it by then.
