  Just to illustrate the hypocrisy and ignorance of many 'religious' people in the Islamic world: I was once on a plane back to Riyadh from the Far East and found myself sitting in first class next to a Saudi gentleman whom I knew slightly from the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, where he was their religious adviser. He was returning from a long weekend in Bangkok and he regaled me with lurid tales of what he had been up to. I asked if that was not somewhat at odds with his day job and he explained patiently to me that God can only see what goes on in Saudi Arabia not Thailand and anything he did outside the Kingdom did not count.
