    And one of the frustrations is - as probably Sarah will bear out - many of us have been saying the same and trying to change the same for years. 25 and 30 years ago I met the same poor standards and societal prejudices about age and disability that we are seeing publicised now and which lead to the toleration of cruelty and bad practice. If we didn't as a society think it was ok to ignore elders and people with pain and disability it would not be as hard to tackle those practices that we are now publicly abhoring. We all bear some responsibility for undervaluing vulnerable people or people with disabilities and the people who support them, and the calibre of people that then get paid to support people and the prejudices that leads to.
