Wow! thats an interesting one Howard. I didnt know such a level of effort was going on behind the scenes here in Dover. I wont be doing any crocheting myself but I admire those who can.

Our village sewing group has a very big stack now of pennants, all waiting to be sewn on the tapes, all different colours made from all sorts of things - including old sheets (some dyed red), tablecloths, remnants, linings, clothes (husband's shirts included!), the thin ones sewn double.
I can't really understand why bunting needs to be knitted but perhaps I am missing something - when you're aiming for about 500 yards that's an awful lot of knitting !
