  Top Tip - If Forumites have bulky items which the bin men refuse to take and they can't be bothered taking them to the council tip why not try this top tip to have them taken away for free?
  
  1. Put item in old Amazon packaging and leave on doorstep.
  
  2. Go and have a coffee in town and by the time you return it is almost 100% guaranteed that your rubbish will have been taken away.

  A few years ago we wanted to get rid of an old bicycle which was serviceable apart from the need to replace a few bit and bobs. We put a card in the local shop and left it outside our front door in the hope that someone in need would help themselves to it and use it.
  
  After a couple of weeks our neighbour knocked on our door one morning and said: 'Last night a couple of the young scrotes from Elvington nicked that old bike and made off down the road with it. I chased them and retrieved it, and gave them a good piece of my mind.'
  
  So it doesn't always go according to plan, Bob.
