Up until the Budget all the propaganda was in place and still working.
Tory poll ratings above or neck and neck with the oppostion.
Then the Budget hit everyone and everything except the wealthy.
Then everything changed. Many hic-cups to many to mention followed.
Credibility began to dip, then the floodgates opened when the Council elections results came in.The gains were everywhere
Wales,Scotland, all over England and the gains were way above all the expectations of the polls and both Party`s.
Next week we have the Leveson inquiry into Politicians involvement.
Clock is ticking louder.

I've resisted saying this for ages but I'm saying it now.
This is Dover Forum, not "let's have a go at the governement forum."
If you don't have anything positive to say Reg, just give up.
ps don't mind if I get a red card!

ray;
this forum is made up of lots of interests whether they be national/local issues
or politics or the local garden centre.
obviously you are a supporter of the conservative party(prob a member)and i respect that.
but you have in the past on many occassions attacked the labour party
just because you don't agree doesn't mean people should stop posting.

I agree with Ray - not just because I am a Councillor, but because I believe Ray is right, that this is DOVER forum; we should have more discussions on various things local and less on things national.

well roger much as i agree with your sentiments we both post on local events in the main but they do not get the same feedback as the political threads.
there is always the issue, if we kept it purely local, that dovorians were insular and had no understanding of national and international matters.

I dont have any Party political allegencies and I agree with both Ray and Roger , sometimes I feel like I have tuned into a personal blog , and at other times I feel like there is a permanent Greek chorus going on .

sarah(others)
to answer your point again as have done many times before(if i remember rightly barryw himself put a very similar posting up last time this was raised)
that the threads with the most posdtings are the political ones
over 1000 on one of them, but in the main other threads may reach 50
apart from the where is it thread.
and then of course we get those im not a tory then go on to give fantastic tory postings better than comes off oif conservative.com
then others who say they are fed up of the postings keep posting on these threads
all rather strange.
so as iv said before, the threads are widespread you can post on some/all or any
or even start your own
simnples,,,,,,,,,,,,

It was a statement ,not a point that needed clarification or permission from anyone .

there is indeed a great divergence of threads as keith said, everyone is welcome to start a thread on their pet subject.
i make a point of reading everything here as i believe that if someone makes the effort to post then it is only good manners to read it.

indicated permission
in fact as iv said on so many threads the forum is rich in differing views
long may it continue
