20:1274909Noticed that the latest DDC Planning Decisions show the 2006 application (DOV/06/01455) as "Granted Permission"
Does this mean that permission had not been granted before this latest list (1st October 2010) and if the permission has now been given is there hope that work on this neglected site may start very soon.
At the exhibition by the developers at Buckland Paper Mill (I think sometime last year) they stated that the agreement for the first part of the development (80 bed nursing home) was crucial to the "kick start" for the re-development.

20:4174916this will come up a lot in the next few months, after all we are nearing the council elections.
permission being granted means nothing, the economic climate dictates that nothing will happen in the foreseeable future.

19:1675035If I remember correctly they were granted permission previously but did not comply with planning conditions and
subsequently put in an amended planning application.
They have now completed all requirements including section 106 agreements I believe.
Certainly the permission has left the Whitfield office.
Let's hope they get going as stated.

20:1575051Section 106 for the non Councillors is what the developers pay the Council for services this money can then be spent in that ward or neighbouring wards.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

20:1675052wetherspoons have put in planning applications for their premises in castle street every time someone puts pressure on them to make the place less an affront to the eye.
sadly one does get somewhat cynical.
