It will close 7.30pm on Saturday until 7.30pm Sunday
I would not have thought it had been open long enough to need... " routine preventative maintenance"... Is that a code phrase for someone made a cock-up somewhere in this new building. Not good enough NHS.

Someone on Facebook thinks it might be to move the fire alarm which is being repeatedly set off as it is right by the EXIT button.

In radiology I believe, usual teething problems on a new build. I remember Sir John Goodwin complaining of a leak ceiling when the work on the booking office at Dover Priory station was completed.

A couple of good things to say about our new hospital/health centre/polyclinic(please delete as appropriate) I have had to visit for blood tests 3 times recently and there has never been more than the person being blooded before me so in and out in under 10 minutes. Secondly I have an appointment there next month with an Audiologist, normally I would have gone to Deal or Ashford.

Just do not have anything out of the ordinary such as a dog bite. I had serious dog bite a week ago. Went to Buckland but as not seen till, after 5.00 p.m. No x-Ray. Over to K and C where x-rayed dressed etc. but as lost part of finger then had to go East Grinstead the next day for surgery (170 Mile round trip). Return trip today, for "hand therapy" change of dressing. But interesting experience at EG, lots of very old seperate buildings, plus some new. Obviously excellent service as was service at all hospitals but 170 miles when not feeling 100% not much fun.
Need to,find out what exactly can be done at Buckland, nearest place I will receive follow up,treatment is Faversham.

Sorry to read about your traumatic experience Pam, I would have thought one of the big three hospitals in East Kent could have dealt with it. I know that East Grinstead along with Billericay in Essex have specialist burns units seems that the former has another speciality.

Two separate 170 mile trips is definately not acceptable. What would have happened if you did not have transport and had to make your way all on your own. I hope you make a speedy recovery Pam.

Speedy recovery Pam, East Grinstead is one of the few micro surgery units in the country, they have the expertise to repair blood vessels, nerves and tendons the small things that can make recovery quicker and will give back as much normal movement and feeling as possible. Frustrating to get there but worth it from my experience.
Many of those old buildings are the ones our burns injured soldiers used after the 1st world war, they were called the guinea pig club I believe. More of a torture centre from the stories I've read, but groundbreaking work that laid the foundations for modern plastic surgery and burns treatment. Would recommend reading up on the work of Mcindoe? fascinating character.
