20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF THE DOVER BRONZE AGE BOAT - TALK AND GUIDED TOUR
To mark the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the Dover Bronze Age Boat, the world's oldest seagoing boat, The Bronze Age Boat Trust has organised four specialist talks on different aspects of the boat including its discovery, conservation, display and recent research.
Each talk will include a guided tour of the Boat Gallery. The talks will take place from 15.30 - 17.30 at Dover Museum. Please be at the museum entrance by 15.15. Tickets are £4 per talk including entrance to Dover Musuem or all four talks for the special price of £14.
Tickets can be obtained from the Dover Museum shop or by ringing the museum on 01304 201066. Saturday 23rd June - The Discovery of the Dover Bronze Age Boat - Keith Parfitt FSA, Field Officer, Canterbury Archaeological Trust. Saturday 4th August - The Conservation of the Boat - Professor Mark Jones, Head of Collections, the Mary Rose Trust. Saturday 25th August - Keeping the Boat in Dover - Christine Waterman MBE, Trustee, Dover Bronze Age Boat Trust Saturday 29th September - The Dover Bronze Age Boat Twenty Years On: The Past and the Future - Peter Clark FSA, Deputy Director, Canterbury Archaeological Trust.
