  going slightly off topic todays event reminded me of reading an article on the annual varsity boat race due to be held that day.
  
  must have been in the eighties and the chap went on to say what a boring event it was for most and if a boat sank he would be biting the carpet with laughter.
  
  i didn't take much notice and later turned the news on to see the cambridge crew valiantly trying keep their dignity whilst the thames was lapping around their upper torsos.
  
  i was actually hurting with laughter.
