Having been confirmed as a third world country by the popes pastor 2 days ago, today we have confirmation of that status. India has decided that it does not want to accept aid from this country any more, describing £297 million as a "Petty amount" Now ones first re-action could be to be angry about that, but on the other hand perhaps we should welcome such a decision
Any country that can afford a space programme and a nuclear arsenal most certainly does not need my taxes
Ever since 1947 when India was granted independance there has been a mutual unspoken hostility towards this country but it was kept in check because they needed our money. Now that they are starting to get there act together they feel no need to disguise there hostilitytowards us.
One has to ask by what criteria does Mohan Singh the indian prime minister come to this conclusion??
He rules over a country of 800 million people who live in poverty and survive on a £1 a day.
I do not agree with his assessment but am quite happy to go along with it if it saves the poor old british tax payer. Who knows perhaps China, Russia, Brazil ,Argentina, the list goes on and on. will finally admit that they are richer than us here in this beleagered island.
