14:4871681Yes, we've finally made it in to the top ten but before mass celebrations and popping of champagne corks its actually for being number ten of countries with the fattest population.
A staggering 61% of the population are now clinically overweight or obese resulting in increases in respiratory disorders, diabetes and heart attacks. The cost to the NHS now exceeds that of smoking and alcohol related diseases and there is no sign of the situation improving.
The causes of this are lack of exercise, fast food and fatty foods, it appears we have become a nation of sport watchers as opposed to sport participants. Boys if you cannot look down and see what you used to admire when you were in your teens, you're fat and its time to waddle round the block a few times a day and do some walking weekends. Girls if you cannot find dresses to fit and have to shop at an outsize outlet, time you did the same.
I am of course referring to only those who binge eat in this thread and no offense is intended to anybody who has through medical reasons a genuine weight problem.
Now, what are your thoughts?

14:5671684that should make the smokers and drinkers smile, time for someone else to be brow beaten by the health people.
thinking back i remember when the smoking ban was introduced a top dog at the b.m.a. said it was now time do deal with the growing obesity issue as it was more of a problem than smoking.

14:5971687This may explain why the sea front is usually devoid of locals. So many houses around town, and still the front and parks are usually empty. No one wants to walk.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
