I do wonder what the delay may be in designating one's domicile differently from a public place. A line is certainly crossed, no matter if criminal or guest, upon entering somebody's home.
Even those places designated "public houses" are allowed to regulate who comes and goes.
If only the onus was on the 'intruder' to explain their actions, but we soon come up against the usual problem;when it is 'lawful' for the law-abiding to utilise a weapon the criminal often ensures that theirs is bigger than yours.
If only it were possible to take a statement under oath from the property-occupier, as opposed to resorting to arrest?
