Just another little item to add to the green card[if not covered], AA,RAC etc coverage, yellow jackets, headlight adjusters, two warning tri-angles, first aid pack, in car entetainment, before you remember the kids , the wife, lugguageI could keep going.

Typical Daily Mail. France has not "ordered" British drivers to do anything. The rule applies to anyone driving in France even French people. It comes into force next month but there will be a "probationary period" until November. If you don't want to comply don't drive on French roads. Warning triangles, hi-viz jackets etc make sense to me.

the thing that caught my eye was the price of a 100 used oncers.
an internationally approved digital blood pressure/heart rate monitor costs between 10 and 20 quid.
