    [U]M20 closed at Maidstone for bridge removal this weekend

    Following the lorry bridge strike on the M20 last week it has been decided by Highways England to have the remaining part of the bridge demolished this weekend.
    In order to do this the M20 motorway will be closed to all traffic in both directions from 20.00 on Friday 2 September until 06.00 on Monday 5 September.
    Signed diversion routes will be in place but all coast bound traffic will be routed on to the A2 from the M25.
    Because of the diversions and possible congestion due to additional holiday traffic, drivers should be prepared to allow more time for their journeys during the weekend. [/U]
