Had a chuckle at Howard and Peter, they are both spot on. The vast majority of politicians are ego driven attention seekers, that applies at every level in my experience, the bottom line is there are far too many of them.

Parish, town, district, county and then of course parliament, people get elected with good intentions then spend their time squabbling and point scoring, its nauseating. I can name several I've met who work hard with integrity and little reward, the majority of those are female and represent labour, I wont mention names but a quite large bloke from the other side falls into the same category. But there are tens of thousands who want to tell us how to run our lives, the reality is all they do is waste our money through incompetence, if they want to do some good go and push old folk round the park.

Compare them with people like Neil Wiggins who is campaigning, against the odds, in a really good cause, in what may prove to be a futile exercise, I'll support the likes of Neil more than any party led mouthpiece. Incidentally, I think Charlie works very hard for the town.

I know various politicians look in so I've probably ruffled a feather or two, oh well.

Rant over, have a nice day.
