There is a lot of rumour going round about the SS Richard Montgomery which sunk about 60 years ago off Southend loaded with explosives. Because My hobby has me in full view of the wreck every weekend I have taken an interest in her. If you read the above reports from the MCA (coastguard) you will get the true picture of how dangerous or not the threat of explosion is.
I am totally against an airport anywhere near this area but not because of the wreck. I fear for the wildlife and I fear for the residents of the Isle of Sheppey. This is a beautiful area and a peaceful one, I hate the thought of planes polluting the area.
I don't for one minute think this will ever happen anyway.
