  i have been racking my brain on this and have now come up with the perfect solution.
  
  it has been done before at places like lourdes,knock and some place in portugal, but a vision of the virgin mary seen by a local/locals does wonders for the local economy.
  pilgrims will descend from the ferries.
  
  the apparition appears at the highest summit of the western heights during easter(or in the smoking bit of the eight bells if it is raining), the local monsignor or holy man would be victor, of course, as soon as he finished his building site job, the holy water, to be flogged in recyclable plastic bottles, would be siphoned from the dour by ian or phil,when no-one is watching.
  
  all that is needed then is a sighting of a virgin in dover.
