a 58 year old dover man is on trial at southwark crown court charged with making a bomb threat on a plane prior to take off from heathrow to dubai last year.
doesn't appear to be a serious threat but clearly no chances can be taken.
forgetting this particular instance, what do members think is a fair sentence for anyone doing such a thing, bearing in mind the times we live in ?

you were just a little bit out keith, the chap from edred road pleaded guilty to being drunk on a plane when intending to fly to dubai in order to smuggle back cigarettes for sale in the u.k.
he was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment, which he had already served on remand/curfew.
probably celebrating as we type.
If u are making a bomb surely must be charged with atempted murder as that is what you are trying to do , even if it doesnt work .

welcome back mark, there was no suggestion that a bomb or terrorism was involved.
just a drunken bore trying to put the frighteners on.

Frankly whilst i abhor the inconvenience this tw*t caused if we locked up every drunken bore for behaving like a total t*t we would probably need to double the number of prison places we have.
But seriously - i suspect 4-6 months for drunk and disorderly and behaviour likely to lead to a breach of the peace
