For those of you who venture over to Deal on occasion, just to let you know that the marvellously bonkers BoHo (aka Bohemian Bar and Restaurant) on Deal seafront (slap-bang opposite the pier) is but a few short hours from reopening, after a splendid (and ongoing) revamp.
Bit of a plug for a mate, this, who's taken the place over, but pay the BoHo a visit when you're in Deal. It's a gas.
And follow BoHo goings-on on Facebook (search for FB group 'Boho Deal') and on Twitter at 'BohoDeal'.
Cheers all and enjoy the lovely weather,
Andy
Am now following on FB - is this the kind of place an ageing hippy turned businesswoman might enjoy? Bear in mind I am also Irish and marginally left-field.

I believe Bern is a Protestant republican. Certainly the lady doth protest muchly and she don't like Betty Saxe-coburg-Gotha one bit!

Andrew sounds an interesting place. I will definitely pop in. If your friend would like to take out some advertising with us we can get the message out with very good viewing figures and it lasts over a long period of time. The name will keep popping up here for months and months and months. We need the revenue too..so both of us would benefit.
We can do it for £7 a week, minimum six months at those rates though.

The Boho was, er, buzzing, as befits a bar run by a cove called Buzz. Totally rammed in fact - the only downside to the Boho is that there isn't enough of it. Still, small but perfectly formed.

Went to the Friday opening night and enjoyed it so much went along again on Saturday. Hard to say what's different with this refurbishment which makes it seem a little more pleasant than before. Hope it lasts and is successful.
Also popped into The Clarendon which was devoid of customers, for a Saturday night that's unusual so I can only assume it was due to their not having any entertainment. It was busy in there Friday evening when they did.
I was initially sceptical about entering The Clarendon but that's only due to it's outside appearance. It's a completely different place once you're inside.
Back to Dover, I'm hearing The Priory Hotel is beginning to take off. The landlord's working hard to encourage new clientele - regular live music being one thing he's promoting.
