The post you are reporting:
I think I must be totally missing something here, Jan.
That a police officer could make a mistake, was not up to discussion. Of-course it is possible.
We were talkiing of the riots in London, in Tottenham, to which Bob's comment refers.
The Police had been called in, prior to that evening, to deal with an armed man in the streets of London, who ended up shot.
Every day, it seems, Jan, the Police in London are having to deal with the results of knife carriers, and occasioally gun-carriers, and the brutal effects of their criminal activity.
I ask myself if you are read the news, Jan. Possibly some of us read diddrent news articles than others do.
The Polcie did not make a mistake when they intervened, and we don't even know how often Police action in London has prevented violent crime from actually happening.
Knife crime in London is carried out in the vast majority of cases by youths who are of minorities, as they are officially referred to.
As for Dave mentioning white people moving out of London, this has been happening since the 60's, owing to immigration.
Jan, when a gun or knife is pointed at a person, and there are no Police about, talking is useless. In London, many knife crimes are carried out by large groups who chase one single person through the streets, or corner him/her, and carry out a premeditated execution.
They usually know the person, their motivations are usually not made known to us by the press. Thiis is almost every-day life for the Met Police to deal with.
The bloke who got shot was carrying a rifle in the streets of London, that's all, Jan. The mistake was his, he was told to put it down.
I won't hang about arguing with you about it!
