You are correct Terry.
Bob a Job stopped quite a long time ago because of youngsters going out alone knocking on strangers doors. It was felt back then, that how can you teach children not to talk to strangers then ask them to go out and earn money from strangers. Most Scout Groups have done their own thing in raising money by doing jobs in the Community as a group, things like car cleaning or packing peoples shopping at the super markets.
Scouting has always liked to see the young people doing something to bring in the money rather than standing there shaking a tin can. Now they have come up with "Scout Community Week " which again looks for those in the Scout Movement doing jobs in the community as a Group to fund raise and by doing it as a National Week it promotes the Scout Movement as an organisation.
Great to see it and I fully support it.
