For the third year running our birdbox is in use, saw these little follows this morning, all I have to do now is find a way of keeping the Rt Hon Sir Oliver Four-Paws MP from having his second lunch!

good luck with that phil, how high off the ground is that?
my bird feeder is on a branch of an overhanging tree from next door, the branch is strong enough to take a full feeder but not strong enough to take even a lightweight cat. took me ages to get it correctly positioned so that it is out of reach of acrobatic cats.

Howard,
The box is about 8ft from the ground, fixed to the wall of one of the two concrete sheds we have, it has been there for four years and in use for the last three. The big problem is Sir Oliver who has worked out a series of ways of getting to it, so yet again I am having to come up with another plan to defeat him! For those who enjoy our garden birds I had a female black cap on the feeders yesterday!

Lovely photos Phil, we have bluetits looking at our nest box yesterday. They usually move in.

Same here Kath, we inherited our box when we moved here nine years ago and it has been used every year since.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
