I just watched a few minutes of Andrew Tyrie grilling the deputy governor of the Bank of England over a telephone conversation the man (allegedly) had with Barclay's Diamond.
He told him straight that his answers sounded like 'he was being economical with the truth' in other words telling porkies...
To be frank, having watched the exchange for those few minutes the BoE man (Tucker I think his name is) did look shifty, saying that the BoE normally kept notes of telephone conversations but, conveniently, not that one!! Tyrie had him in a corner.

Tyrie and others on the select committee will never be in the same class as Robert Jay QC.

Bob Diamond proved one thing yesterday, that MP`s are inadequate, lack knowledge, experience
and technique to investigate the Libor scandal. It must be a Judicial investigation only.
Why do Flashman and Ossie, who accused Labour ministers of involvement not want a thorough
Judicial investigation ? ``
