    Reccsion or not work goes on.
    You would not be geting coal out by hand,we have moved on today it would be done by mechanical power, I like 1000s of others have and still do work underground but in my case i do not do it now, but it is very safe not like it was 30years ago,and the skills are still there,alot of work still goes on undergroundin the U.k.It would not be hard to open new pits, as I said black is back,I am no dreamer and because of my work in the pass I do know what I am talking about, just wait and see ,but in 3years time the U.K.will be mining coal again.
