23:1986716it is official now that the kent and canterbury unit will close in a couple of weeks.
good news for dover, the buckland hospital will reopen at the same time after being closed to due to staff shortages.
i am doubtful over the bigger picture as i have been told that the qeqm will close also.

00:1686721Howard are you sure your information is correct, the staff at Buckland were transferred to the William Harvey, up until then there wasn't a staff shortage.
As far as Iam aware and I could be wrong there are no plans to re-open the birthing unit, let alone in a fortnight.

18:4587028Not sure you have the correct info Howard. My wife is preggers again and yes Dover has been closed and does reopen in 10 days or so but will be completely open as it was before i.e. 6 weeks ago. This is according to our midwife

18:4887033we seem to be at cross purposes matt, i am saying the same as the midwife.
the main problem is whether the reopened unit can cater for the extra patients from margate and canterbury.
best wishes on the forthcoming birth.
