This is the response from volunteers who make one truly delighted for Dover. Day two of the KBT Great British Spring Clean and a privilege to be out to see and encourage volunteers in their tasks. First off the block London Road Community Forum volunteers led by its Chair Deacon Michelle Legumi and her husband Dave. What an enthusiastic and committed leader for the community seen here outside Footprints at London Road Dover. Also pictured are three of her handful of volunteers who were endeavouring to clear the accumulation of rubbish in the front of the former Methodist Church. Just look at all those cans and other items thoughtlessly dumped at this location. Well done all. Go London Road Community Forum and its chairperson Michelle who was last seen wandering down to a building where graffiti was being painted over! A good example of Tidy up and Clean up.

Meanwhile over at St Margaret’s at Cliffe I encountered the ladies of the St Margaret’s WI about to embark on a similar clean up of local roads in the company of member Brenda Paul, who is also a parish councillor, together with Gill Crone East Kent Federation Chairperson who was joining the local members on this exercise. St Margaret’s WI forms part of the East Kent Federation of the WI and the Federation is celebrating its centenary of founding in 1919. Picture shows the volunteers with grippers raised in a WI formation. Well done and good luck to the ladies of the St Margaret’s WI.
As KBT ambassador thank you to all volunteers taking seriously this campaign to counter our litter epidemic and to enhance the amenities of our town.
