  Very entertaining post there Philip. Much of what you say is true..messrs Cameron and Clegg did oppose the Labour move on data collection/intrusion a while back amid much huffing and puffing and faux indignation. It is a much easier life in opposition, when you can oppose for the sake of it, once in power the grim reality hits home...and what appeared like principle before makes way for practicality.
  
  Yes indeed I heard this on the radio this morning re the Carbon Capture initiative. £1,000,000,000 ( did I get enough zeros there ) but just in case I failed with the zeros, yes £1billion is available to anyone who figures out how to do it. It seems the idea is to put the carbon in a pipe and bury it under the North Sea..heavens! The search for this was also tried by the last government, several companies stepped up to the plate but none could master it. So there we are...how to get rich quick.
  
  If someone succeeds then we can burn fossil fuels at will without any danger of pollution. Thats the idea.
