01:0492128I visited the library yesterday (Tues) afternoon around 1.30 pm. There was a dirty, scruffy, bearded character pacing up and down at the entrance with a plastic bag in his hand. I had just got to the top of the steps with the aid of my crutch and without any provocation from me he called me a "f......g geriatric old c..t". I said " are you talking to me" and he came out with another load of bad language. I raised my crutch to give him a whack but thought better of it. Whether he was p....d or on drugs I do not know. I entered the library and a librarian (male) who was standing inside the entrance asked me if I knew the man as he had seen what had happened. I told him what he had said to me and he told me that he had been keeping an eye on him.
When I came out of the library later he had gone. There were a lot of children in the museum at the time around the entrance. I have noticed that there have been a lot of p....ds hanging around the back of Barclays lately who can be plainly seen by any one using the library. They all use the library toilets as well.
It is hoped that they are moved on before the new Visitor Information office is opened as they are not a very good advert for Dover.

08:2892144The Town Bobby (not hot-dog Bobby) should be called and get them cleared away; they are rubbish and should be treated as such.
Certainly not good for tourism.

10:2992154i think i know the man alec refers too, he stares at people in the library hoping to get a response, unfortunately a lot of drunks frequent the facility now, a security guard is needed nowadays to get rid of the anti social element.

11:2892156They are on Shopwatch so should be no problem in summoning help, assuming someone is available that is.
