You have used the word tribalism as a club before now but true tribalism is about people being loyal to their tribe( family), to their friends, to their country, or to any other social group, so what is wrong with that?
Miners were and still are, called "Militant" in a detrimental way.
However, the true "Militant Miner" was merely acting responsibly, as custodian of his colliery and his actions were not for personal gains but to protect his comrades, to protect future employees coming into his industry, often his own family and to protect the future of his colliery.
I am proud to be called tribal and militant and of course a miner, in their right context but please don't call me a
"political tribalist militant lefty". Because that I am certainly Not.
Not that you have called me that but others have.
