  I am not a member of Dover Forum.
  
  
  
  I have just seen a thread starting about the bench in Pencester Park.
  
  
  
  I just wanted you to know that the bench has been a continual nuisance for some years and recently unbearable. We have involved councillors and Dover District Council in an effort to get this bench removed. The Police have had a heavy input into monitoring the site and have been very helpful. Residents reported daily incidents and the Police have had an increased presence in the park. We have had to put up with drunks, drugs, all day, any time through the night. It has become impossible to get a nights sleep without interruption. When challenged the abuse received is upsetting. There have also been other issues.
  
  
  
  The bench has now gone and we do not want to see a replacement. All we ever asked was that the bench be removed further down the park. However, we are pleased it has gone and hope Dover Forum do not start a campaign to have it replaced as your members do not live with it under their window.
