Yes its true.. imagine allowing Mr Bean himself to get behind the wheel of a McLaren F1 supercar, a machine with awesome breathtaking speed. Gordon Bennet! the mind boggles, as he had considerable trouble managing his little mini.

But in his other persona called Rowan Atkinson, he ran off the road and at some pace, the car hit a tree and caught fire...and now he is recovering in hospital.

Although these cars are gorgeous and no mistake, are they too fast for the road? are they too powerful to handle for the ordinary Joe?

I saw a bit of Top Gear the other night, just a bit as Im not a terribly huge fan, but I saw young Hammond drive a new Lamborghini that went faster than the speed of sound..ermm nearly. It hit 60MPH in 2.9 seconds and carried on travelling til it hit 200mph plus at breathtaking speed.

I mean I know they are FAB, but in safety terms...how could you stop one of them. it would have travelled half a mile before you could even react. Quite a few celebrities such as footballers with cotton wool between the ears are the only ones who can afford these things but they dont have the skill to go with the money. Quite a few of same have hit various buffers on the Queens Highway.
