I've just been watching the tv report about the dead whale in Pegwell Bay and all those people wondering why they can't get closer - the answer's here -

i had heard about that, it has to be added that parents with children on their shoulders were leaning over the cliffs to get a view of the unfortunate whale.

I was a little surprised when reading Moby Dick of the misfortune of the good people of Sandwich. Of course this was all a while ago, but to cut a long story short, beached whales are the queen's problem.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
