LIVE FROM 'PLATFORM 1'.................BBC RADIO KENT BREAKFAST SHOW
There will be more than just early morning commuters at Deal Railway Station on Wednesday 20th June, when BBC Radio Kent's Breakfast Show is broadcast live from 06:00am to 09:00am from 'Platform 1', Deal Station's popular new café facility.
Fronting the show will be regular presenters John Warnett and Clare McDonnell keeping the county up to date with the latest news, travel and weather plus stories from around Kent.
The live outside broadcast is the second of a two day BBC Radio Kent Breakfast Show focus on the economic future of East Kent, including the main opportunities for growth as well as barriers that exist. Day one on Tuesday 19th June is highlighting Thanet and day two from the 'Platform 1' location, will focus on the towns and district of Deal, Dover and Sandwich.
'Platform 1' founders and co-owners Nick and Andy Stevens said : "We are delighted to welcome the BBC Radio Kent Breakfast Show to 'Platform 1' and we look forward to hosting the entire broadcast team and various guests the programme is inviting to be interviewed to comment on this specific region of the county."
"It's a major coup for a Deal location and business to be used as a broadcast base for the popular show and a great opportunity to showcase what the town has to offer and promote future developments and investments."
'Platform 1' is open Monday to Friday from 05.30am to 5.30pm and on Saturdays from 08.00am to 5.30pm, serving a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and selection of newspapers.

What a coup and well done, just think of all the cups of coffee that will be needed, I hope they pay.
Andrew do you know why Deal was chosen as opposed to any of the others in "this specific region of the county"

In which case Martin I hope somebody turns up for her to talk to, our roving reporter together with camera perhaps.

I would like to think Howard will be poised camera in hand, presumably they will have some guests lined up otherwise it could be a pretty dull show if nobody turns up. Trevor Bond spoke on RK this morning re employment issues, very interesting he was too.

i followed martin's lead and popped down earlier, expected to see a van with all sorts of equipment.
not so, they were just sitting at a table outside the bar there.
i don't think julia liked the look of me for some reason.

Thanks Howard. Thanks Roger. In answer to your question, Jan, Deal is very active and engaged with bettering things for the town at large.

Good photos Howard, was working this morning so only heard a small part of it, I heard a man called John speak and he had a real passion for Dover, thought it may well have been John Heron?

The BBC Radio Kent breakfast show live from Platform 1 cafe at Deal station went brilliantly this morning. Thanks very much to presenters John Warnett, Clare McDonnell and the team.
Thanks too to all the guests and everyone who turned up to make it a very successful and innovative broadcast. You can listen to the show again, focusing as it does on the economic future of Deal and East Kent, by clicking on the following link
