15:4572722 Well, just popped in the White Horse at lunchtime for one glass, and lo and behold, the BBC were in there filming for their magazine programme to be shown shortly. Jeanette is shown being interviewed about the writing on the wall and the channel swimmer`s responsible. This BBC news piece is to be shown on BBC1`s Inside Out news programme, at 19.30, (7.30pm) after `The One Show`, on Thursday 14th October.

20:4677919Yes folks, Dover`s favourite forumitic(?) landlady appeared on BBC1 a short while ago. A real star. And there she is above being filmed for it in September. Will be down for your autograph during the week Jeanette.

09:0678007A friend of ours has a guest house (quite close to the White Horse) and the BBC were with them for an hour and a half filming.
Watching the program last night, they didn't even show a minute or second of them - shame really, they have a lovely guest house and are a lovely couple and give over their guest house to swimmers all summer long.
It was interesting to note that the Channel Swimming Association were not represented or included in the program, just the Pilots Federation - not that there's anything wrong with the Pilots Federation, just made it one-sided.
On the argument being put forward by the French (who banned swimming from France to England), I really hope they don't ban Cross Channel Swimming. It is so good for Dover.
